چکیده

Abstract Papaya ( Carica papaya L.) is a highly nutritious and less-caloric fruit, commonly consumed for its minerals vitamins hence may help in controlling obesity abdominal discomforts. The present study investigated the hypolipidaemic effects of juice extract on male Albino Wistar rats (7 weeks old; 185 ± 17 g) fed high fat fructose diet (HFFD) 6 weeks. were divided into groups I–IV five each either HFFD (i.e. Control), + 200 mg papaya, 350 or 500 papaya. On day 34, after an overnight fast, blood samples obtained by cardiac puncture under 99⋅8 % Chloroform anaesthesia determination serum triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein (LDL-c) high-density (HDL-c). atherogenic (AI) coronary risk (CRI) indices also calculated. Statistical analysis was performed using ANOVA where means separated Tukey's HSD test. Resulted showed that all given had increasing, non-significant HDL-c reduced LDL-c levels while highest TC (53⋅2 mg/dl) TG (37⋅6 levels. statistically AI CRI rats. In conclusion, consumption most effective reduction rats’ lipids fats, due to anti-obesity properties, thus can be used management dyspilidaemic disorders.

Protective Effects of Restricted Diet and Antioxidants on Testis Tissue in Rats Fed with High-Fat Diet

Background: A high-fat diet (HFD) and fat accumulation promote the oxidative stress formation, which in turn has hazardous effects on reproductive system and fertility. Therefore, the present study examines the potential positive effects of a restricted high-fat diet (RHFD) and antioxidants consumption on sperm parameters in rats. Methods: 48 male albino wistar rats divided to four groups (n=12...

Effects of troxerutin on inflammatory cytokines and BDNF levels in male offspring of high-fat diet fed rats

Objective: In the present study, we aimed to examine the effect of troxerutin treatment on levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6), as pro-inflammatory cytokines, in the blood and hippocampus of high-fat diet (HFD) fed dams and their male offspring. <span ...

Effects of L-Carnitine and Cinnamon Extract Treatment on Lens Crystallins of Rats Fed High Fructose Diet

Problem statement: Rats fed high dietary fructose are documented to form an acquired model of insulin resistance; the present study aims to investigate possible changes in lens crystallins of rats fed high fructose diet and the effects of administration of each exogenous L-Carnitine (CA) and Cinnamon Extract (CE) on protein glycation, oxidative stress and redox homeostasis in this rat model. Ap...

P-52: Effects of Curcuma Longa Extract on Sperm Parameters with High Fructose Diet Rats

Background: Obesity and increased body mass index (BMI) affect the reproductive parameters in men such as poor semen quality, decreased sperm concentration, decreased normal-motile sperm cells and increased DNA fragmentation index. Lipid peroxidation contributes to the damage of the sperm plasma membrane. The Curcuma Longa is a resource of antioxidants, hence in this study also was evaluated th...

P-71: Effects of Cinnamomum Verum on Sperm Parameters with High Fructose Diet Rats

Background: Obesity is a leading preventable cause of death worldwide, with increasing prevalence in adults and children. Some studies have shown that increased body mass index is related to poor semen quality, decreased sperm concentration, decreased normal-motile sperm cells and increased DNA fragmentation index. Lipid peroxidation contributes to the damage of the sperm plasma membrane. Cinna...
